Lasik, lasik surgery, lasek, epilasik, prk, ck, crystalens are all discussed here.

intacs, Intacs, corneal inlays, keratoconusIntacs were originally approved for treating low amounts of nearsightedness. They are "C" shaped plastic inserts which are placed in the cornea.
Recently, it was found they may be useful in a condition known as keratoconus to give the cornea a better, more stable shape so that vision can be improved with contact lenses and glasses.
They have also been used in a condition known as progressive ectasia which can rarely follow laser refractive surgery.

Learn about LASIK and LASIK eye surgery as well as today's other exciting refractive surgery procedures designed to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses.
In addition to LASIK, the most important myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia refractive procedures are discussed here and more will be added as they are developed.
Please, go ahead and get started learning about LASIK and the other exciting technologies available right now. LASIK surgery and other refractive procedures are discussed.

Crystalens - This is the brand name of an accommodative intraocular lens ...more

Lasek - This is a surface ablation technique where the epithelium is removed chemically...more

PRK -This is the original laser procedure. It is a surface ablation technique...more

 Crystalens accomodating IOL intraocular lens

 Laser Epithelial Keratomileusis LASEK

Photorefractive Keratectomy PRK

Epi-LASIK - This is a surface ablation technique where the surface is carefully removed... more   LASIK - Most common of the refractive procedures. The flap is created with a microkeratome...more   Refractive lens exchange - Clear lens extraction restores the eye to a normal power...more

LASIK Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis Laser-Assisted Stromal In-situ Keratomileusis

Refractive lens exchange with Restor lens Clear lens exchange
Intacs - These are small plastic arcs, designed to add strength to the cornea... more   NearVision CK  - Very safe, it is the only FDA approved treatment for presbyopia... more   Restor - Multifocal IOL allows vision without glasses in many cases... more

Intacs are used to help keratoconus

CK conductive kertoplasty near vison CK

Restor multifocal IOL intraocular lens

Intralase - This is the "all laser" LASIK where  the flap is made by a separate laser...more   Phakic intraocular lens -This is similar to putting a special contact lens inside the eye...more   Rezoom - Multifocal IOL allows vision without glasses in many cases... more
